Intended use:

The RIDASCREEN® Cryptosporidium/Giardia Combi is a Enzyme immunoassay for the qualitative identification of Cryptosporidium parvum, Cryptosporidium hominis, and/or Giardia lamblia in human stool samples.

General Information:

Giardia lamblia are flagellate parasites that cause infections in the small intestines of humans after the oral uptake of giardia cysts. Because it is found worldwide, the Giardia lamblia pathogen is a significant cause of chronic diarrhea, in particular in medical cases related to travel.

Cryptosporidiose is a protozoan infection caused by the Cryptosporidium genus. This parasite is found widespread in animals, and it has significant presence as a pathogenic microorganism in domestic animals, calves in particular.

RIDASCREEN® Cryptosporidium/Giardia Combi

  • allows simultaneous examination for both of these pathogens
  • requires no personnel specifically trained in parasitology
  • is not dependent on finding intact cysts or trophozoites
