Portfolio expansion: RIDA®UNITY E. coli Stool Panel I and III working together

Current situation:

Differentiating pathogenic E. coli strains is becoming increasingly important in gastrointestinal diagnostics – both for initial basic testing and for the targeted assessment of travel-associated pathogens. To offer laboratories a seamless solution for this, R-Biopharm has expanded the RIDA®UNITY portfolio with a unique combination for E. coli diagnostics.

New: RIDA®UNITY E. coli Stool Panel I (UN2285)

The new RIDA®UNITY E. coli Stool Panel I assay detects the Shiga toxin genes and enables the required differentiation between stx1 and stx2 as early as the initial analysis – a decisive factor for early risk assessment when EHEC is suspected.

Combined with RIDA®UNITY E. coli Stool Panel III (UN2265)

The full diagnostic depth is achieved only in combination with the RIDA®UNITY E. coli Stool Panel III assay: This assay covers the travel-associated E. coli EAEC, ETEC, and EIEC/Shigella spp. This allows acute Shiga toxin diagnostics and the broader, travel-associated pathogen spectrum to be covered within a single workflow.

One workflow, full flexibility

Since both assays are based on the same RIDA®UNITY workflow and PCR profile, they can be combined without additional effort – regardless of whether the sample is a native stool sample, a fecal swab in Cary-Blair medium, or a culture sample. Users benefit from:

  • Full compatibility of both panels within a unified workflow
  • Differentiation of stx1/stx2 as early as the initial analysis
  • Simultaneous detection of travel-associated E. coli (EAEC, ETEC, EIEC/Shigella spp.)
  • Eluate reuse for follow-up runs and reorders from existing eluate
  • Flexible sample matrix: stool sample, fecal swab, or culture sample
